Claire's Fundraiser 2017

Claire's Fundraiser is to raise awareness of Calciphylaxis which is a rare complication not limited to kidney patients.
Claire passed away in 2016 due to this complication and so once a year we try and raise awareness.
Calciphylaxis is basically where the blood vessels get blocked with Calcium, this causes the skin and flesh in the affected areas to die, or become necrotic.  It's a very painful condition and the first signs are black patches on the skin - Claire described this as like dried blood that would not wash off.
If you or anyone you know gets something like this then seek help immediately as this condition has a VERY high mortality rate.

Claire's Fundraiser 2017
This year we decided to have an evening event for the adults

Stars in Their Eyes which was on Saturday June 17th at the Civil Service Club, Castle road Rosyth

What a great night it was as well, good turn out and excellent entertainment, and of course the usual raffle.
The Stars in their Eyes group have performed for charity before, but this was their first show for a couple of years. Songs were mixed with some chart hits and some golden oldies. Did I mention we had a surprise visit from Abba and Elvis?
We raised around £1200 for the Fife Kidney Support Group, most of which was generated from the Raffle.
This was our first time organising this type of event and was a success.

We would like to thank, Stars in Their Eyes for the entertainment, Civil Service Club Rosyth for the room, LP designs for the photos from the night, and for raffle prizes, Loch Leven Lodges, Ranger’s Football Club, LP Designs Photo Studio, Adventure Island Golf, Lee Strong Hair Salon, Hair Creation Hair Salon, Lola Hair Salon, Carlton Bingo, Romano’s Fish Bar, Giacomo Café, Cottars Bar, La Zara Takeaway, Loch Leven Larder, and our very good friends who also donated raffle prizes.

Next year we will be having a Children’s Fun day again, watch this space!
